TextConnections™is a reading support and intervention course that helps students develop the comprehension skills and strategies, vocabulary, fluency, independent reading, and writing techniques needed to become competent readers of a variety of texts.

Five units: Self and Society, Media, English Language Arts, Science, and Social StudiesUnits engage students in reading a variety of texts across subject areas to increase their overall comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, writing, and independent reading skills.
High-interest trade books, Kaplan-authored leveled passages, excerpts written by well-known authors, vocabulary journalsBy examining multiple text genres and structures, by reading fiction and nonfiction, and by incorporating the theme of change in middle school and that of identity in high school, students improve their reading skills through engaging and accessible lessons.
Teacher handbook and guide with adaptations and Spanish translations of key vocabularyTeacher materials allow educators to have all of the background information, lesson pedagogy, and implementation recommendations they need for a full year of instruction.
Formative assessment built into the programSelf-, peer-, and teacher-level assessment opportunities in each unit allow educators to monitor comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, writing, and verbal-communication (discussion, speaking, and presentation skills) progress.
